Teething or something else? 11 months and waking screaming

My daughter has been waking up screaming around midnight for the past five nights, totally inconsolable for 10-15 minutes. She's also drooling a lot and chewing everything, so I assumed teeth.
But part of me wonders if it's ear-related because she had a cold last week. How do you tell the difference, and at what point do you take them in?

After a cold I'd get her ears checked, honestly. Ours did the exact same midnight scream thing and it turned out to be an ear infection, not teeth. The drooling can be a red herring. Worth a GP visit to rule it out.

Teething pain does tend to be worse lying down so night waking fits, but inconsolable screaming for 10+ minutes after a recent cold would push me to get her seen. Better to check and have it be nothing.

We went through this and it was a combination, teeth AND a lingering ear thing. The pediatrician sorted it. I wouldn't try to diagnose it from the forums, the cold history changes things.

Trust your gut, you clearly already feel it might be more than teeth. Five nights of midnight screaming is worth a professional look. In the meantime lots of cuddles, you're doing great.

Mine teethed hard at this age but never screamed inconsolably like that. The post-cold timing would have me booking an appointment to check the ears just to be safe.
