After 14 months of waking every 2-3 hours, my daughter slept from 7pm to 6am last night. ELEVEN HOURS. And what did I do?

I woke up at her usual 11pm waking out of pure habit, then lay there in the dark checking the monitor every 20 minutes convinced something was wrong. Didn't sleep a wink. The body is broken, people. Tell me this gets better.

Hahaha welcome to the club. Your body has been on high alert for over a year, it doesn't switch off overnight. Took me a solid two weeks to actually start sleeping through after mine did. It DOES come back, I promise.

The monitor staring is so real. I eventually had to turn the volume down because I was inventing problems. Give yourself a few nights, your nervous system needs to learn it's safe to stand down.

Congrats, that's huge!! And also, totally normal. The phantom 11pm wake-up haunted me for ages. Your brain wired itself for survival and now it has to un-wire. Be patient with yourself, this is a win.

I felt this in my soul. First full night I cried at 5am because I'd been awake 'guarding' her. It absolutely gets better. Soon you'll be the one sleeping through and SHE'LL wake you. Enjoy the wins.
