- Keep a sleep diary.
- Keep the waking time and sleeping time in accordance with the age of the child.
- Observe the rhythm of the day (active and quiet awake hours. Exclude active games and loud sounds, dim the light 1-1.5 hours before going to bed. After the daily routine is established, 30 minutes is enough to slow down before going to bed).
- Record the wake-up time (+- 15 minutes).
- If the child sleeps too long, wake him or her up.
- Choose a wake-up ritual.
- Spend quality awake time during the day (enough physical activity, adult involvement in games with the child, satisfaction of tactile and emotional contact between mother and child).
- Learn to recognize early and late tired signs.
- Try to put your baby to sleep by paying attention to the "sleep windows" when melatonin is most actively produced (the beginning of morning sleep: 08:00 - 10:00, the beginning of day sleep: 12:00 - 14:00, the beginning of night sleep 19:00 - 20:00).
- Put your baby to bed for his/her first nap according to babies age.
- After the introduction of complementary foods, follow the nutritional routine.
- Feed your baby 30-40 minutes before bedtime.
- Remove sleeping in motion (stroller, car seat) and short naps of 5-15 minutes.
- Avoid over and under sleep, too short and too long awake hours.
- Avoid improper associations for sleep.
- Introduce relaxing habits for the child before bedtime and carry them out consistently.
- Record the time to go to bed (+- 15 minutes).
- Observe the conditions for sleep (silence, darkness, temperature 19-22 degrees, humidity 50-60%, ventilated room, comfortable clothes for sleep).
Daytime sleep will be stabilized automatically if you choose the right daily routine and quality wake-up time.
Adjust sleep schedule gradually, shifting sleep by 30 minutes every other day.
The time for morning awakening according to the child's biorhythms is 06:00 - 08:00.
Night’s sleep time according to the child's biorhythms is 19:30 - 21:00.
Set a daily routine when there is no growth spurt (see table), the teeth are not cutting painfully, the child is healthy.
